Week 2 Results

After subpar performances in Week 1, how would the players attone themselves going into the season's second event? Week 1 showed the off-season rust for a lot of the guys along with the inability to curtail their nerves. The realization is here! Every swing taken now means something and has potential consequences. Week 2 event remained in doubt most of the week due to day after day of nonstop rain. Finally, the rain came to a halt Friday afternoon and the chance to play golf was not only highly probable but the event took place. However, for the players it was going to be a mental and physical grind. The rain left its effect on the course as it was cart part only. The course was wet and played longer than typical especially for the guys who count on roll to squeeze out that extra yardage. To add to the challenge of the conditions was a very solid field. Eighteen guys came ready to play. There were seven players tied for the low score after 9 holes and another player one shot back. Congratulations to Darnell Head for shooting the low round of the day and holding off a host off guys who can only blame themselve for not closing the deal. Felix Gordon bounced back big time after drastically under performing in Week 1. After missing last week's event, Carvette Kitchens made his presence felt with a third place finish. Newcomer James Bowman had another very impressive showing and is making a case early on that he will be one to account for this season. As for the ones who did not contend, did the elements prove to be too much for them to handle or are they still experiencing a case of off-season rust? Next week, AGMG will take on the hills and undulating fairways at Eagle Ridge.
